14.10.2006 :: Chester Food & Drink Festival announces programme for 2007

Mulberry events will yet again be producing the Chester Food & Drink Festival in 2007 and the dates have just been announced.

Chester Food and Drink Festival Taste Marquee is planned for 7th - 9th April 2007, Easter Saturday to Easter Monday. The Marquee will include producers from Cheshire and North Wales, together with sections for national and international produce, reflecting the cosmopolitan nature of Cheshire. The Marquee will be surrounded by a small village of stalls and displays, with more than 50 exhibitors confirmed already.

Photo by www.marketingprojects.co.ukA Food and Drink Fringe Festival will also take place around the City from 6th - 15th April 2007 with restaurants, bars and hotels all helping to make Chester the focus of food and drink within the UK. There will be theme nights, special family offers and accommodation promotions. The ever-popular Cheese Rolling competition will take place on 7th March, with this year's world record attempt - to build the world's largest sculpture from recycled cans - taking place on 26th March 2007.

02.10.2006 :: Retailers Come Together for Chester Fashion Week

Designers and retailers from in and around the city recently joined forces for Chester Fashion 2006, which ran from Friday September 22nd, to September 30th. CF06 showcased the fashion industry in Chester in an inaugural event that followed hot on the heels of London Fashion Week.

Photo by www.marketingprojects.co.ukCF06 aimed to promote Chester as a fashion destination by creating a series of catwalk shows and a search to find the Face of Chester. The contest was held at Chester Zoo where the male and female winners will received a year's modelling contract.

There were also events held at Chester Town Hall, The Forum Shopping Centre, The Mall Grosvenor and Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet. CF06 was supported by a range of smaller events and promotions provided by the city's retailers.

A Fashion Show held in a Marquee at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet kicked off Chester Fashion 06, and showcased formal and casual wear with a professional catwalk show including designer brands such as Karen Millen.

Chris Burke, general manager of Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, said: "Chester Fashion 06 is a great way to celebrate the talent and success of Chester's fashion industry and we're glad to be a part of it."
